The Spanish famous artist Salvador Dali was born in 1904. Possessing an extraordinary gift for drawing, he began to attend the municipal art school in fine arts. One of the artist’s early works is the painting “The Boat”, painted by him at the age of
Dali spends most of his youth in a family house near the sea with a port in Cadaqués. Accordingly, the communication of a young boy with a rich imagination with local workers and fishermen affects his talent and becomes the prerequisite for the embodiment of paintings with interwoven content of the sea and sailing boats.
The picture shows a boat, or rather a sailboat without sails, swinging along the waves near the rocky shore. You can also observe faint gray, yellow and blue colors in this picture, which fascinated attract the attention of the viewer and colorfully convey the modulations of sunset or sunrise reflected on the canvas of the sea. This is the highlight of the famous Dali style. On the hill of the rocky shore you can see the outlines of a house made in gray-blue tones, and not far from the shore a sailing ship.
Perhaps this is a marina, as other boats swinging in the waves are also visible near the sailboat. Peering into the expanse of the sea, on which boats sail stubbornly, one can see overflows of sunset or sunrise, which play beautifully on its waves, and its shadows unusually meander in the reflection of water.
Peering into the picture "The Boat" is difficult to attract your attention for a short time. It leaves an imprint of impressions on how hard it is to forget the plots and places of childhood, and most importantly to express and convey to the viewer all the power of the subconscious imagination. It may not be possible to understand the meaning of this picture, but peering into it more and more, the viewer only increases his curiosity. This picture is in a private collection.
